Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Account info: your name and email when you create an account. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email, and profile photo with Knowria. We use your name and email. We don't use or display your photo.

Waitlist: your email, if you join the waitlist.

Purchases: what you bought, when, and the amount. Your card details and billing address are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us. We see your card brand and last four digits.

Usage: if you accept analytics cookies, the pages you visit, actions like starting checkout, and your device and browser type.

Error reports: when something breaks, technical details like your browser, device, the page, and the error.

Emails you send us.

2. How we use it

To run your account and give you access to what you bought, process payments and refunds, send account and purchase emails, send product updates if you joined the waitlist, understand who uses Knowria and how (for example, which countries or regions visitors come from), fix problems, and prevent fraud. We don't sell your personal information.

3. Services we use

Google Firebase and Google Cloud: accounts, database, hosting

Google sign-in: if you choose to sign in with Google

Google Analytics (through Firebase): usage analytics, only if you accept cookies

Google reCAPTCHA: protects Knowria from bots and abuse. It runs on every page and collects device and browser information. Its use is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Stripe: payments and fraud prevention

Resend: email delivery

We share only what each service needs to do its job. Through Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA, Google may collect information about your activity over time and across other websites, as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies and browser storage

Analytics cookies only turn on if you click Accept on the cookie banner. To change your choice, clear your browser's data for openknowria.com. Knowria also stores a few things in your browser that it needs to work: your sign-in session, your cart, and your cookie choice.

5. Do Not Track

Do Not Track is a browser setting that asks websites not to track you. Because there's no agreed standard for what it should do, Knowria doesn't change its behavior when it sees it. Instead, you control tracking with the cookie banner: analytics only runs if you click Accept.

6. How long we keep it

Account info: while your account exists.

Waitlist emails: until you ask to be removed.

Payment records: even after you delete your account, for as long as needed for refunds, disputes, taxes, and legal requirements. Stripe keeps its own records too.

Analytics and error reports: for a limited time, under Google's and Sentry's retention settings.

7. Your choices

See or correct your info: in Account Settings, or email us.

Delete your account: in Account Settings. This deletes your account and profile. Payment records are kept as described above. Deleting your account isn't a refund (see our Terms).

Stop product emails or leave the waitlist: email us and we'll remove you.

8. Security

Your information is encrypted in transit and stored with providers that encrypt it at rest. No system is perfect. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as the law requires.

9. Children and teens

Knowria isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If we learn we have, we'll delete it. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use Knowria.

10. Where your data is processed

Knowria is run from the United States. Your information is processed and stored in the US by us and the services above.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. For a material change, we'll email you before it takes effect and update the date above.
